Every Earth Day weekend, Olympia hosts the Procession of the Species where anyone can enter the parade -- just wear a costume like these bats Or construct an animal, like this benthic anglerfish It's quite entertaining with a lot of music and dancing - great for the kids and family Bees We stopped in a coffee shop to stay warm and grab something to drink; there are so many small coffee shops in downtown Olympia, I'm not even sure which one is this Roger's Mom joined us, she was a bit offended when she saw two girls kissing in Sylvester Park --- welcome to Olympia Angela is always taking the photos so she's not in any of the pictures Cory didn't like the tapioca in her bubble tea, so I got to finish them off Before the parade, giant sticks of chalk are handed out to all the kids, hence the drawings on the street I think it's a sun with rain clouds - that's part of the fun of the parade is trying to figure everything out Tree? Banana Slugs! The gorillas riding people It wasn't rainy or sunny, so I'm not quite sure why the person in front of us had an umbrella It was a bit cold, maybe low-50s -- the whole spring was rather chilly
