The market in Hofuf They sold just about anything, including lots of camels Candee riding bareback I used my swift ninja skills to block one of my sister's punches...actually I have no idea what's going on here, except that I used to be a fashion guru I had on my Nanu Nanu suspenders Away from the camels, we wandered into the sheep section of the market Nell and Mom walking around in the market This is a great pic of the people working inside the market In a gold shop Gold was amazingly cheap there On the streets of Hofuf A good pic of my Mom There's always lots of room to move around inside the shops Some old buildings outside of Hofuf A well utilized Toyota A mosque The desert and of course, camels There existed some amazingly nice roads out in the middle of nowhere, some were 4 lane highways with streetlights and you'd be lucky to see 2 cars per hour More camels Closeup of camels Saudi has 25% of the world's oil reserves, the lifeblood of the nation, and Aramco is the most profitable company and largest oil company in the world The red sands of the Rub Al Khali, also called The Empty Quarter, home of the Ghawwar oil field, the largest in the world It is aptly termed a sand desert and is the second largest hot desert in the world, after the Sahara There's almost no life out here But it does exist The wind makes ripples in the sand like waves on the ocean floor A salt flat where camp is set up
